Hydrogen (in german “Wasserstoff”) is already an important player in many sectors. Outside the energy industry, H2 is already being used successfully in the chemical industry, for steel production or for fertilisers. 

In addition, we firmly believe that hydrogen will play a complementary role in the provision and storage of energy, thus acting as an ideal gap filler within a green power supply chain.

PROWATECH's range of services covers the entire spectrum of plant engineering. We handle all sub-steps within the realisation of your hydrogen system. 

From planning and consulting to the procurement of the individual components and the turnkey installation of your system: 

We cover your energy needs!

  • Careful planning is the foundation of every project. Through our experience in the realisation of hydrogen systems, we support you in defining your individual system solution.

  • Using computer simulations or calculation tools, we can advise you on the evaluation and calculation of your required hydrogen plant. This includes the design of the components up to the determination of the expected costs.
    We support you in choosing the right components and materials for a sustainable and long-lasting supply system.

  • We rely on qualified personnel and are not only certified in handling the common types of connections for hydrogen, but also have the required documents for any welded connections of hydrogen pipes.

  • We work according to the current European standards, but are also familiar with the American regulations and can use appropriate material depending on the requirements.

  • Each of our plants is carefully inspected after completion. For this purpose, we prepare detailed test protocols and evaluations to guarantee a clean and reliable installation. If desired, we can also commission an independent, external testing agency.

  • hydrogen container system

    Container-System

    A modular complete system that can be scaled according to energy requirements

    Client: GKN Hydrogen
    Description: Depending on the requirements, the container size varies between 10 or 20 foot, with a storage capacity of 12-120 kg hydrogen or an electrical capacity of 160 kWh to 2 MWh.
    Locations: Europe, Australia, USA. At present, more than ten systems of this type have been realised worldwide.

    For the production and storage of hydrogen in metal hydrides

    Client: GKN Hydrogen
    Description: With a capacity of about 280 kg hydrogen (about 10 MWh), this plant is one of the largest metal hydride-based storage systems on the market.
    Location: Bruneck, Italy

    Pilot project at 3,100m

    Research and development project for the energy supply of a mountain refuge

    Client: Mader & GKN Hydrogen
    Description: System for the self-sufficient energy supply of electricity and heat to a refuge in the high alpine region, using photovoltaics, battery storage and a hydrogen system.
    Location: Ridnaun, Italy.
